Wikipedia

I never realized how mow much I used Wikipedia until today. I would have to agree with what Twitter says about the strike, that going black is "foolish" and "silly". I understand that their striking for what they believe in but what about the consumers of Wikipedia. Why should we have to suffer? Wikipedia is a free product that seems to care more about themselves then they people they serve. They should not of went black, like twitter, and keep the returning consumers happy. http://www.digitaltrends.com/social-media/twitter-will-not-join-jan-18-sopapipa-blackout-good/

  1. I believe Wiki went black today to help their users to become aware of what's going on and what could possibly happen. If you haven't read into what's going on, I posted a blog on this subject this morning with some links to a few websites that explain the bills. But in reality, if these bills would pass, there's a good chance that Wiki (and several other websites) may have to shut down their website or get very strict with what they post. So if you think to the future...what's worse, one day without Wiki or possibly never having Wiki again? Just food for thought!

  2. I also realized how much I used Wikipedia and I know its not the best source. It can help a lot of many different subjects but the source itself is not always reliable. People can change the text and information very easily. Since college I have learned there are an unlimited amount of resources that Ball State and the library provides for us that are much more reliable, and have a lot more information that Wikipedia provides.
